You can still animate your content in the slide itself. To do so, select an area and then select "Animate area" above. As soon as this button is activated, the area will not appear during the presentation until you click on "next", i.e. when you press the arrow keys or the space bar. This way your content is not immediately visible, but only when you want to show it.
The templates you have from presono are mostly animated from the template itself.
