presono Satellite is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. It keeps you signed in to several presono platforms at the same time – each with its own login, its own tabs and separate storage. One click in the sidebar switches platforms, without signing out and back in.
Who is Satellite for? For everyone working with several presono platforms on a regular basis: partners and agencies looking after customer platforms, plus support and content teams. If you only work with one platform, you don't need Satellite – the web version and the presono app are enough.

The screenshots in this article show the German interface. Satellite follows your system language, so your app will show the English labels used below.

Installation
macOS: Open presono-Satellite-<version>-universal.dmg and drag „presono Satellite" into your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS confirms the origin of the app.
Windows: Run presono-Satellite-Setup-<version>.exe. The app installs for the signed-in user, no administrator rights needed.
Satellite looks for updates by itself and downloads them in the background. They are only installed once you trigger it in the settings.
Connecting a platform
- Click Add platform at the bottom left.
- Under Customer platform name, enter a name – the customer's name, for example. Without one, the sidebar shows the platform address.
- Under Platform URL, enter the address, for example
customer.presono.com. Satellite checks right away whether a presono platform runs there. - Enter Email and Password and click Sign in now.
After signing in, the platform appears in the sidebar, sorted by name. Logo and colour are taken over automatically as soon as they are set in the platform.
Single sign-on: If the platform uses SSO, the dialog says so and offers Sign in with SSO, which runs through your company login. Users without SSO keep signing in with their password. Use web login instead takes you through the familiar sign-in page.
The same platform more than once: You can connect a platform several times, for example with two different users. Each entry has its own login.
Switching between platforms
Clicking an entry in the sidebar shows that platform with its tabs. Everything else stays open and signed in in the background.
- Wide or narrow sidebar: The arrow at the bottom of the sidebar collapses it, leaving only the logos visible. The state is remembered.
- Shortcuts:
Cmd+1toCmd+9(Windows:Ctrl+1toCtrl+9) switch straight to the first to ninth platform. - Pinning platforms: Right-click a platform in the sidebar and choose Pin to top. Pinned platforms form their own group at the very top, in the usual order, and carry a pin badge on the tile. Unpin puts them back. That keeps the platforms you use every day within reach of
Cmd+1/Ctrl+1.
Working with tabs
Every platform has its own tabs, like in a browser.
- New tab: „+" in the tab bar or
Cmd+T/Ctrl+Topens the start page of the platform. - Link in a new tab:
Cmd+click/Ctrl+clickon a presentation, slide or template set opens it in a new tab next to the current one. - Tab titles show what is open: „Presentation: …", „Slide: …", „Template set: …". If you rename a slide, a presentation or a layout in presono, the tab title follows by itself a few seconds later.
- Tab overview: From two tabs on, a counter next to the „+" shows how many are open. Click it for the list of all tabs; click an entry to switch there. With tabs in several windows, the list is grouped by window. At the bottom of the list: Close all tabs.
- Reordering tabs: Drag a tab to another position in the bar — a turquoise marker shows where it will land. The new order is kept, even after a restart.
- Close a tab: „×" on the tab or
Cmd+W/Ctrl+W. The last tab of a platform always stays open. - Right-click on a tab opens a menu with Duplicate, Reload, Close and Close all tabs; from the second window on, the window entries are added (see Several windows).
- Right-click on the page offers Back, Forward, Reload, Copy, Paste, on links Open link in new tab and Copy link address, plus Inspect (see For support).
Next time you start Satellite, all platforms and tabs are back. A tab is only loaded once you click it.
Several windows
Satellite can open several windows – the template on one screen and the slide on the other, for example. Every window is a complete interface with platform sidebar and tabs; logins, platforms and settings are shared by all windows.
- New window: Menu Window › New window or
Cmd+N/Ctrl+Nopens another window with the active platform and a new tab. - Moving a tab to another window: Right-click the tab, then Move to new window or Move to Window 2.
Shift+clickon a link opens it in a new window right away. The tab is moved, not reloaded – login and inputs are kept. There is a quicker way with the mouse: drag the tab down and out of the bar until the hint Release to open a new window appears, then let go. - Ghost tabs: Every tab bar still shows all tabs of the platform. Tabs that live in another window appear dimmed with the window number. Clicking one shows that window; a right-click offers Show Window 2 and Bring here.
- Window chip: From the second window on, a small chip on the left of the tab bar tells you which window you are working in.
- Closing a window:
Cmd+Shift+W/Ctrl+Shift+Wcloses the window; its tabs move back to the other window, nothing is lost. On the next start, Satellite restores all windows with their layout.
The platform menu
At the top right you see which user you are signed in as on the active platform. Clicking it opens the menu; a right-click on the platform in the sidebar opens the same menu, there with Pin to top in addition:
- Platform settings – change the name. Address and user are fixed; for a different account, remove the platform and connect it again. The link Load color and logo from the platform now fetches the platform's appearance again right away (see below).
- Log out & remove platform – signs you out, closes all tabs of the platform and deletes its locally stored data. Other platforms stay untouched.
When the session of a platform expires, Satellite shows the sign-in dialog with your email prefilled. Enter the password and your tabs are back. If a different user signs in on a platform than the one the entry was connected with, Satellite points that out.
Logo and colour of the platform: The sidebar shows the logo and colour set in presono under Settings › Configuration & Integrations › Company (Customer Logo, Main Interface Color, Logo Background Color; customising the appearance requires the corresponding module of the platform). Satellite picks up changes at every sign-in, that is on start, in a new tab and after Cmd+R / Ctrl+R. If you don't want to wait, use Load color and logo from the platform now in the platform settings.
Opening links in the right platform
Links to presono content that reach you by email or chat don't have to go through the browser: Cmd+L / Ctrl+L or menu File › Open link… opens the Open link dialog. Paste the link or a text containing it – Satellite recognises the platform by its address and opens the link there in a new tab.
If several logins share the same address (such as my.presono.com), Satellite checks on opening which login knows the content: if that is unambiguous, the link opens right there. If several logins know it, you pick one. If none does, the content belongs to a platform you have not connected yet – the dialog then offers Connect platform and opens the link after signing in.
Clicking a link inside a tab that belongs to another connected platform switches there as well.
When you sign in to another service from within presono — Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Cloud or DALL·E, for example — Satellite opens a window of its own for it instead of a browser window. The sign-in then runs in the session of the platform you are working in, so the connection ends up where you need it. Links that simply point to a web page still open in the browser.
For support: developer tools
If presono support asks for an error message from the web app, open the developer tools of the tab: menu View › Developer tools of the tab (Alt+Cmd+I, Windows Ctrl+Shift+I or F12) or right-click the page and choose Inspect. The console shows the platform's messages; you don't need this for everyday work.
Settings and updates
The gear icon at the bottom left opens the settings of the app.
- Software update – shows the installed and the available version. With Download updates automatically, Satellite fetches new versions in the background; they are installed on the next restart or on click via Restart & install. All logins and tabs are kept.
- Appearance – Follow device, Light or Dark.
- Start at login – Satellite starts together with your computer. On macOS this may need approval in the system settings.
- Connected platforms – the number of entries.

Frequently asked questions
Why do tabs reload after a restart?
When Satellite is quit, all content is closed. On the next start, logins and the pages you had open are kept, but the platform builds its interface again. If you only close the window on macOS, you find everything unchanged – the app keeps running in the background.
Where are my logins stored?
Separately per platform in the local profile of the app, the way a browser separates profiles. Passwords are not stored.
Can I drag tabs into a second window?
Not with the mouse, but via right-click on the tab and Move to Window …, or with Shift+click on a link. See Several windows.
The sidebar still shows the old logo or colour.
Satellite picks up changes at every sign-in. Reload the tab (Cmd+R / Ctrl+R) or use Load color and logo from the platform now in the platform settings.
Unsaved changes are gone after closing a tab.
Satellite only asks when the platform reports it. Save your changes before closing a tab.
One last thing
Clicking the Satellite logo at the top left opens the orbit view: one planet per platform address, with a small satellite per login circling it; hovering a planet shows its address. A small extra with no function – click a platform in the sidebar to go back.
