presono Satellite is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. It keeps you signed in to several presono platforms at the same time – each with its own login, its own tabs and separate storage. One click in the sidebar switches platforms, without signing out and back in.
Who is Satellite for? For everyone working with several presono platforms on a regular basis: partners and agencies looking after customer platforms, plus support and content teams. If you only work with one platform, you don't need Satellite – the web version and the presono app are enough.

The screenshots in this article show the German interface. Satellite follows your system language, so your app will show the English labels used below.

Installation
macOS: Open presono-Satellite-<version>-universal.dmg and drag „presono Satellite" into your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS confirms the origin of the app.
Windows: Run presono-Satellite-Setup-<version>.exe. The app installs for the signed-in user, no administrator rights needed.
Satellite looks for updates by itself and downloads them in the background. They are only installed once you trigger it in the settings.
Connecting a platform
- Click Add platform at the bottom left.
- Under Customer platform name, enter a name – the customer's name, for example. Without one, the sidebar shows the platform address.
- Under Platform URL, enter the address, for example
customer.presono.com. Satellite checks right away whether a presono platform runs there. - Enter Email and Password and click Sign in now.
After signing in, the platform appears in the sidebar, sorted by name. Logo and colour are taken over automatically as soon as they are set in the platform.
Single sign-on: If the platform uses SSO, the dialog says so and offers Sign in with SSO, which runs through your company login. Users without SSO keep signing in with their password. Use web login instead takes you through the familiar sign-in page.
The same platform more than once: You can connect a platform several times, for example with two different users. Each entry has its own login.
Switching between platforms
Clicking an entry in the sidebar shows that platform with its tabs. Everything else stays open and signed in in the background.
- Wide or narrow sidebar: The arrow at the bottom of the sidebar collapses it, leaving only the logos visible. The state is remembered.
- Shortcuts:
Cmd+1toCmd+9(Windows:Ctrl+1toCtrl+9) switch straight to the first to ninth platform.
Working with tabs
Every platform has its own tabs, like in a browser.
- New tab: „+" in the tab bar or
Cmd+T/Ctrl+Topens the start page of the platform. - Link in a new tab:
Cmd+click/Ctrl+clickon a presentation, slide or template set opens it in a new tab next to the current one. - Tab titles show what is open: „Presentation: …", „Slide: …", „Template set: …".
- Tab overview: From two tabs on, a counter next to the „+" shows how many are open. Click it for the list of all tabs; click an entry to switch there. At the bottom of the list: Close all tabs.
- Close a tab: „×" on the tab or
Cmd+W/Ctrl+W. The last tab of a platform always stays open.
Next time you start Satellite, all platforms and tabs are back. A tab is only loaded once you click it.
The platform menu
At the top right you see which user you are signed in as on the active platform. Clicking it opens the menu:
- Platform settings – change the name. Address and user are fixed; for a different account, remove the platform and connect it again.
- Log out & remove platform – signs you out, closes all tabs of the platform and deletes its locally stored data. Other platforms stay untouched.
When the session of a platform expires, Satellite shows the sign-in dialog with your email prefilled. Enter the password and your tabs are back. If a different user signs in on a platform than the one the entry was connected with, Satellite points that out.
Settings and updates
The gear icon at the bottom left opens the settings of the app.
- Software update – shows the installed and the available version. With Download updates automatically, Satellite fetches new versions in the background; they are installed on the next restart or on click via Restart & install. All logins and tabs are kept.
- Appearance – Follow device, Light or Dark.
- Start at login – Satellite starts together with your computer. On macOS this may need approval in the system settings.
- Connected platforms – the number of entries.

Frequently asked questions
Why do tabs reload after a restart?
When Satellite is quit, all content is closed. On the next start, logins and the pages you had open are kept, but the platform builds its interface again. If you only close the window on macOS, you find everything unchanged – the app keeps running in the background.
Where are my logins stored?
Separately per platform in the local profile of the app, the way a browser separates profiles. Passwords are not stored.
Can I drag tabs into a second window?
Not at the moment.
Unsaved changes are gone after closing a tab.
Satellite only asks when the platform reports it. Save your changes before closing a tab.
One last thing
Clicking the Satellite logo at the top left opens the orbit view: one orbit per platform, in its colour. A small extra with no function – click a platform in the sidebar to go back.
